Graduation DVD’s
We can take the video and/or still photos from your school’s
graduation ceremonies and put them on DVD, where they will
far outlast even the sturdiest, most professional quality
video cassettes available. Even under ideal climate controlled
storage conditions, video tape will deteriorate within about
20 years. Under average storage conditions that consumers
subject their tapes to, serious deterioration will occur within
10 to 20 years, to the point that tapes might not be viewable
any longer. Then there’s the issue of a dirty VCR that
might ruin a perfectly good tape.
Aside from longevity, DVD’s allow graduations to be
organized into a more manageable, enjoyable viewing experience,
not to mention the picture and sound quality is vastly superior
to that of VHS video tape. DVD menus allow the speeches and
processional to have their own space on the disc, which can
be viewed if desired, but not requiring fast forwarding to
advance past them, as with video tape.
The diploma ceremony can be organized by menus so that alphabetical
or other groupings can be selected at the touch of a button,
allowing the viewer much quicker
access to the individual(s) they're interested in, rather
than having to scan search through a video tape. Advanced
authoring will even allow direct access to each and every
student with a single touch of a group menu button.
A graduation DVD also allows the inclusion of any manner
of featurettes to go along with the graduation, such as interviews
with the seniors and highlights of awards ceremonies, proms,
senior breakfasts and trips, grad night...to name a few. The
vast storage capacity of DVD even allows for a “senior
moment” video or a senior expressions page from each
of hundreds of students to be included with the graduation
DVD.
Your graduation DVD can also include a printed booklet containing
the ceremony program or other pertinent information. The DVD
itself can include text or graphic pages for this information,
keeping everything digital and all in one place.
As with all of our DVD products, two main reasons to consider
having Organic Media produce your graduation video are our
DVD expertise and our top notch equipment. The audio and video
quality found on desktop computer tools, and prosumer video
equipment, can produce disappointing results due to the high
compression (shrinking the file sizes) involved in making
DVD’s. Compatibility can also be a big issue with these
low cost tools, as they are often ill suited to make discs
that will play across the broad cost and feature spectrum
of playback equipment people will be using to play their discs.
Because of the many variables involved, it’s difficult
to offer a simple pricing schedule that reflects the actual
finished cost of a graduation DVD. The low end of the cost
scale would be around $4 to $6 per disc with the average running
between $10 and $20. Major factors (not necessarily in order)
are: the number of discs, the complexity of authoring (the
number of menus, categories, etc.), the type of printing and
packaging, and the readiness of submitted materials (will
Organic Media be compiling montages, editing video, adding
music, etc.).
Please feel free to contact
us with any questions. We’d be glad to quote pricing
and discuss fundraising possibilities. We’re here to
make the job of producing a great graduation DVD for your
school easy and affordable, and give your students vivid memories
they can keep for a lifetime. |
