High
Resolution Photography
Everybody’s goin’ digital...and we have too.
But when you want the best there is—that’s still
an 8x10 inch view camera, the enormous lens, and highly detailed
sheet film that goes along with it. Similar to the motion
picture film versus digital video issue, digital photography
offers big savings in time and money, but there are still
plenty of compelling reasons to take photographs the old way.
Namely, the images will pop off the page like no other.
Most change involves trade off’s and technological
change is no exception. Technological change often enables
more people to do whatever simpler, cheaper, and faster...
but not always better!
Sure, it’s big and cumbersome, but there’s nothing
like the 8x10, be it a landscape, product shot, or portrait.
There’s something very special about the tremendous
resolving power in that big sheet of film that even 4x5 can’t
deliver. Of course, the person behind the camera makes a difference,
but if there is such a thing as capturing the soul—8x10
can do that.
So. There you go. Bear in mind that taking an 8x10 shot is
neither fast nor cheap. Each one is an individual work of
art. By the way—we also do 4x5, 2 1/4, and 35mm still
photography. |
