It is nothing less than incredible what the diverse and powerful interests that came together to deliver the DVD specification have done. It’s obvious how much was learned from the Beta versus VHS wars and from the willy-nilly, wild west show that programming for CD-ROM has been.

Looking around our site, it’s probably easy to tell we’re enthusiastic about DVD. In the early days, when it was just taking off as a next generation consumer medium to deliver Hollywood films, we were busy developing a whole range of other applications to take advantage of the broad feature set DVD offers. Years later, we have not been disappointed.

Organic Media offers end-to-end DVD services. We’re also happy to handle individual aspects of your DVD. We offer audio and video encoding, advanced authoring including motion menus and special applications, and disc mastering. We use Sonic Solutions equipment—one of the top names in the business and a full voting member in the DVD standards organization, the DVD Forum. Sonic has uncompressed SDI inputs and awesome Dolby Digital audio.

If you’re looking to make dependable quality presentations on DVD, trying to do that with a $500 software package is risky business. Not that you can’t “make” DVD’s that way, but there are many, many pitfalls: video quality and playback compatibility being the top two.
