More About Organic Media
For decades prior, the Principals of Organic Media had combined
backgrounds in performing arts with extensive experience in
traditional and analog media. About ten years ago, digital
tools and techniques were added to our skill sets. Our career
paths have spanned literally thousands of projects including
LP records, cassette albums, radio programs, film and video
documentaries, TV commercials, commercial photography, feature
films, TV shows, sales and educational videos, interactive
CD-ROM’s and DVD's, plus illustrations, interface designs,
graphics, etc.
In the early 90’s when media guru Scott Billups brought
the term “professional generalists” into our industry’s
lexicon, he described the many hats we’d been wearing
for years: Writer / producer / director / cinematographer
/ editor / engineer / lighting designer / all-around-techie.
We added the imaging skills of photosensitometry and colorimetry,
which are key to quality reproduction of virtually any kind
be it print, electronic, or film.
DVD was in development about the time we were experiencing
our "harmonic convergence." We could tell early
on, from its rock solid no-nonsense specifications, that it
would deliver in full on many of the multimedia promises that
CD-ROM had been unable to. With our proximity to Silicon Valley,
we immersed ourselves in the development and application of
DVD technology—diving in head first the moment it emerged
as a viable platform.
We value the ability to communicate and work with people—from
all backgrounds, skill levels, and persuasions. So it seemed
natural then, to bring all these talents together under one
roof, including a bevy of other professional contract players,
when needed. We did that in 1998 and founded Organic Media—OM. |
